KATHMANDU, Feb 04: The Nepal Ireland Society and Nepal Tourism Board have jointly organized a Nepali food tasting event in Dublin as part of the Experience Nepal campaign. The program was an attempt to promote Nepali tourism by showcasing Nepal’s authentic food.
The event was participated by Irish Members of Parliament Ms. Maureen O’Sullivan and Mr. Sean Crowe, and members of Nepal Ireland Society and various organizations in Ireland.
Bhansa Ghar, a local Nepali restaurant, presented the Nepali food during the event, with authentic taste including Momo, Dalbhat Tarkari etc. It was very well received by the Irish MPs who showed interest in tasting more authentic Nepalese food in the future.
Nepal Tourism Board is planning to market 20 authentic Nepalese food worldwide as a part of its Experience Nepal campaign. Tourism pioneer Mr. Karna Shakya and his team is leading the efforts to globalize Nepali cuisine under the “Globalizing Nepalese Cuisine Campaign (GoNCC)” campaign. Chief co-ordinator of the Experience Nepal campain and President of Nepal Ireland Society, Mr. Deepesh Man Shakya, said that more food tasting events will be organized in the future once the recipes for 20 Nepali food are ready. The recipes are expected to be ready for distribution worldwide in next few weeks.
